HOPE FARMS

LICENSED CBD HEMP GROWER IN HILLSDALE, NY

At Hope Farms, we're delighted to announce plans to harvest our first crop this Fall. As its name suggests, ours is more that an ordinary farm. It seeks to bring hope to people who till its rich, valley soil—and to those receiving its benefits. Hope Farms is a new CBD grower in Eastern Columbia County, New York, at the foot of the Berkshire Mountains. Licensed by the New York Department of Agriculture as a research farm demonstration, Hope Farms will produce CBD hemp yields at various elevations.

The first to farm the Berkshire foothills were Mohican Indians. They cultivated small patches of corn, squash and beans to support a lifestyle attuned to the land. Clear mountain water fed their soil, constantly replenishing its nutrients. No wonder the Mohicans received their name: "people of the waters that are never still.”

Later, during the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, subsistence tenant farmers of the Dutch and English Patroon system came and cleared more land for corn and wheat, cows, pigs and sheep. The railways came. Dairy farmers followed, clearing vast tracts of land for corn to produce “white gold,” as milk was then called. Dairy farming is now in decline at the foot of the Berkshires. Yet hemp is a viable crop for a new generation of farmers, with the promise of innumerable health benefits to the broader population.

Hope Farms is not an agribusiness, but a small, family-run commercial grower. And to this day, clear mountain water nourishes our fertile soil. Seeds are on order. Greenhouse planting will soon begin. Hands-on attention will foster maximum yield and potency for each hemp plant. And a new, environmentally gentle use for rich but dormant land will reward growers and all who await the harvest. This is the mission of Hope Farms.
